I am a big fan of “Shark Tank”, ABC’s popular Tv show, and love to hear about new plant-based burger startups. When I learned about a black-owned vegan burger startup from Hyattsville, MD, and how their meatless patties wooed a tough shark, I had to Google this company’s website right away! Danita Claytor, Duane Cheers, and Jumoke Jackson are the creative culinary trio that made Mark Cuban fall in love with their juicy and tasty vegan patties. Inspired by their mother who instilled the love for nutritious and healthy soul food into them, creators of these plant-based patties decided to share the award-winning burgers with the rest of us.
News about Legendary Burgers is spreading fast
What is in legendary burger patties?
These tasty patties are made with Pea and Hemp protein, coconut oil, dried herbs, paprika (two kinds), dry citrus, and house-made broth. They come in four flavourful variants:
- Vegan cheddar cheese infused patties
- Vegan Cayenne pepper cheese infused patties
- Vegan Pepper Jack Cheese infused patties
- Classic Burger flavor patties
Legendary Burgers are available in select Safeway, Giant, and Acme stores in the Maryland region. You can also place single, multiple, or wholesale orders directly on their website. Some fans of plant-based burgers find the patties to be a bit pricey at the moment but with the expansion of the production volume, we hope to see a price drop in the future.
Creators of the Legendary Burger patties firmly believe that meatless burgers should neither be tasteless nor lack nutritional value. That is why they go by their motto “We believe that flavor is the soul of food. Take a stand with us and demand nutritious food with taste.” And they will proudly tell you that, “This flavor will get you. For real, it’s a whole other level of taste. Take a bite. There’s no turning back to that bland life.”
Less processed, GMO and Soy Free
These plant-based patties could be the best option for those who want that “beefy” flavor but are avoiding the ultra-processed or savorless vegan options. These patties don’t contain GMO soy proteins or ingredients and for this reason alone, they’ve acquired a large fan base already.
Here on the West Coast, we have plenty of plant-based burger choices. Veggie burgers were even invented in California. But hearing about new companies in other states and cities across the nation is quite encouraging. There are quite a few black-owned plant-based startups, restaurants, and brands, “Everything Legendary” is a wonderful addition to that ever-growing list of companies founded by African American inventors and entrepreneurs. Until grocery stores, health food stores, and restaurants start carrying Legendary Burger patties, I will be ordering them from the website. If you live in the Maryland area, you can always utilize delivery apps to get a pack of these tasty burger patties. For more info on the company and its products, you can visit their social media accounts.
